Sıtkı Kösemen was born in İzmir in 1955. He studied Architecture at the Middle East Technical University.
He exhibited his works in 1980 for the first time.
Besides his architectural works, he has participated 14 solo shows, 9 mixed exhibitions, 6 photo diary projects, 2 postcard collection projects and 7 published photography projects ("The Golden Horn 1993", "Essays on the Bosphorus", "2000", "I Beyoğlu", "Bodrum Deep", “Diaries”, “Istanbul; Defining Views”).
His video projects include Portraits of Turkey (1998), Europeans (1999), Midyat (2000), Inspiration (2002), Pervari (2003), and I am Listening to İstanbul with My Eyes Closed (2005).
His work was selected by "Leica Camera", together with 12 artists to be displayed in "Leica Diary 2002".
He works as an architect for housing, architecture and project development with “PlanB” Co. İnc.; and works with “PLAN” Design & Consultancy Ltd for photography and video projects.
